Need Clarification On Pa Subsidy
MY HD AND I HAVE JUST BEEN APPROVED FOR KINSHIP AND FOSTER CARE OVER THE HOLIDAY THE PROCESS WAS VERY LONG BUT WELL WORTH IT BUT MY QUESTIION IS WE WILL BE DOING KINSHIP FOR MY LITTLE COUSIN BUT WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND IS HOW DOES THE SUBSIDY WORK DO PURCHASE THE ITEMS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE FOR THE CHILD TO HAVE AND THEN TURN IN RECEIPTS FOR REIMBURSTMENT OR DOES THE COUNTY JUST ISSUE YOU A VOUCHER TO HELP WITH THE EXPENSE OF THE CHILD AND THEN YOU TURN IN YOUR RECEIPTS PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND THIS PROCESS |

Hi
First I would make sure that you are going to be getting a subsidy. Some kinship care is not given a subsidy. They may require you to complete the foster care training in order to get the subsidy. If you get the subsidy it is a set amount per day, and is sent to you by check the following month (some agencies do have direct deposit) That is meant to include all or almost all expenses. Though some agencies will have a clothing allowance that is seperate. I would definitely ask the social worker where you stand and what paperwork and receipts you need to turn in.

thank you for clearing that up and yes i did do my foster care training and i got all my clearences done and back including finger printing so i will ask because the child has medical issues too
alot of dr appts. |

You also need to be aware that there are regular rates and medical rates. When I got switched to the basic medical rate the increase was about $5 per day
