Indiana- foster to adopt license

In Indiana is there a difference between a regular foster care license and a foster to adopt license? We told our worker we wanted to adopt, but our license says "Foster Family Home License". Does that matter?

Our license says the same thing, and we are foster-to-adopt in IN. Just call your licensing worker to make sure that you are designated as a concurrent home.

The way it used to work is that you went through your regular training for foster care, but if you wanted to adopt, you also had to go thru 6 extra hours of preservice training and this had to be reflected in your home study. Then the study had to be approved through your local Special Needs Adoption Program committee before you could adopt. Ask you caseworker. I know they were making some changes to the process, however, your license will not indicate adoption regardless.

Thank you for responding. We did do the extra hours of preservice training and filled out the adoption questionnaires that came with our packet of information from the county.
