I just want to help! We were went through a private org. to be certified. We decided to wait a while before taking any children. Now that we are ready and certified I can't get them to call me back. I have left three messenges this week!!! We want to do respite. So I thought well I'll call the state and see if I can do respite for both. A lady called me back and told me that we would have to do all the classes and paperwork again. Which is no problem for me but my husband works late and is not able to attend all the classes. (The private place worked with us on that) So I asked about that and she was very smart saying that he would just have to drive to another country three months later to take them. ??? What the crap? I just want to help out I'm not even coserned about the little amount of money. I'm getting flusterated!!! They complain because they have no help and then turn people away....

Now there is the illogic of the foster care system at work. They take people who are willing to volunteer, who WANT TO HELP FOR FREE, and they crap on them.

Sheesh. I wish I could tell you that this wasn't typical. But it's really typical.

I finnaly got a call back from the private org. He said that he would call the families in my area and ask them but most of there families where in the next city over (about 30 miles). So here I sit waiting...
