Court on Friday

We are headed back to court Friday morning. CW did call yesterday, and has talked to a Consulate person. They have not been able to find bdad, nor has he contacted them. They are still going to look for him though. So we are still in the bowl of uncertainty and insanity.

I am relatively calm right now, but know that by tomorrow night, Friday morning, I'll be a mess of nerves! I just hope they go forward and file the TPR petition. Not that it means anything, but it moves us in the right direction!. They consulate lady did not know if someone would be there at court or not. So we'll see Fri morning! Thanks for the continued prayers!

We dealt with a similiar situation as you with illegal bp's. One bdad had went back to Mexico and never showed and the other bdad left town. The birthmom showed for court, but tpr was granted anyway. Our cw'r had to attempt to publish it in the paper in the town in Mexico where he was from, but the mexican paper wouldn't work with her. They kept going up on a price so the judge just said publish it here and so they did. I would bet that you will not here from the bdad. The worker should try and publish termination there and here and present that to the judge. How long has it been since someone has heard from him?

Well, its 2 am and I'm still awake! Too much nervous energy. I was fine till I went to lay down for bed around 11:30....then the mind started racing! CW had not heard anything as of today from consulate, nor if they are going to show up tomorrow. I'm just trying to think positive and leaving it up to the Man in charge! Attempt number 2 to fall asleep.....good thing court isn't until 11:30...I won't have to wake up too early...too bad the kids never sleep in long enough! Thanks for the continued prayer and support.....it means so much!

Well, sadly to say, nothing has really changed. There were some positives from the situation, but also many negatives! We waited an hour to get in (not unusual). We finally get into the room, everyone states who they are, why they are here, etc. Judge asks if whereabouts of parents are still unknown. State attorney says biomom is still unknown, but that dad was still incarcerated. The Case worker had not even told her that he'd been deported! She dropped the ball on that one (in our opinions). They did not file for termination, as we were lead to believe would happen. They did set a new court date at the end of Feb for a permanancy hearing....at which point they will file (supposedly) for termination. This still leave us with another 3-6 months from that point, if not longer before the termination is finalized. We are looking at probably at least a year if not longer before we are able to adopt, if at all. There was no one from the Mexican consulates office. We are hoping thats a good sign. However, when asked how she knew bio dad was deported, CW said that she'd been told by his brothers wife. (Its actually dad's 2nd cousin, not brother!). She did not mention that she's been in contact with the Mexican consulate's office at all. It was NOT brought up that they have expressed an interest in moving the kids to Mexico with their dad. Somehow, I think thats an important factor that the judge should know about. However, our rights to say anything are limited. Please pray for guidance with all involved. Its very frustrating to know that stuff should be getting done and its not. We are going to have a serious talk with the Guardian Ad Litem and let her know the situation. She did not know until after court that the consulate's offices were involved and CW didn't really fill her in on what she's told us. This also means that our kids new CASA worker did not speak to her (GAL) as he'd said on the issue of the kids going to Mexico.
I pray for all the children who are messed up with this system. I know its a hard process no matter what, but the amount of nonsense that goes on in the system is hard to believe. I know before I was a foster parent, I never would have believed it! And our kids have it relatively good compared to what most kids suffer. Thank you for your continued prayers, love, and support.
