Confused????
I had a placement of a three year old boy he was with me for about two weeks before they removed him and put him in kinship foster to reunite with sister since i don't take children over the age of five. Anyway my caseworker said that the agency will pay me for the time the child was placed in my home. I would like to know is this true. Or is she talking about clothing allowance because i did get money to buy him clothes but do they really pay for the two weeks the child was placed in my home????

The only time I didn't get paid was when the children we're with me less than 15 hours. The rates are per day and so you should get paid for the time he was with you. Sometimes we don't get paid for the first or the last day since they are not full days.

Okay thank you for the information my other placement was an infant of four months he only stoo with me for three hours and then they decided to return him back to mom because they didn't find the mother was a threat to the child so i guess it will be for the three year old child that stood with me for two weeks. Another question if you don't mind what about babysitting do the agency pay for babysitting i asking because this would be my only resort since i work??

Well, I am in Texas, and here the state does pay for daycare if the money is available in their fund. If it's a 2 parent home, both parents must work full time.

I get paid if the children cross the threshold of my home. But I know it's different in each state.
Our state pays all daycare costs. Contact your case worker.

I guys i would have to ask my case worker because my mom is currently a child care provider which means she is licensed to have the kids in her home. i really depend on my mom alot because she is very dependable she's the one who would watch the kids when i need her to even in the last minute if she has to but do the agency pay for child care providers of just a daycare

i believe you should get paid by 'bed days' which like someone said, usually means either the date the child moved in or when the child moved out. and of course everything in between
so if the child came on sunday, and then left on saturday. you should get paid for 6 days. |

In FL you the board rate is paid for every NIGHT the child was in your home. If child arrives at 5 pm and leave the next morning at 9 am - it is a paid night. If child changes fh's - the home where the child spent the night is the one that gets that day's board.
Every state is different - in some states the rules vary by county - so you would contact your facilitator or licensing workers to find out what the rulings are. Here "day care" is a consistant, scheduled care (like for working parents) and child care (babysitting) is the occasional or informal care. ALPI will assist in paying DAYCARE but not CHILDCARE. Our childcare must be done by a screened provider but not necessarily a licensed person. And it must be done in OUR home. Whereas daycare is at a licensed facility. CA has what they call Prudent Parenting where the FP's can have a babysitter that they trust do do occasional informal babysitting. Babysittng is not paid by the agency in most cases. In some states the respite can be requsted in hourly increments and in others it is daily or weekly only. If you have a FP Association locally - that is a great place to go to for information. You can get good solid current info there. Good luck in finding the answers for your area.
