New babies and home study??? help!

I delivered our triplets 9/29/06 at 32w2d! YAY! We had just finished our interviews for our homestudy for G and now the social worker says she needs to come back out again to see how the family does with the new arrivals. Does anyone know what she's going to be looking for? The babies will be in the hospital for another month or so. She said the adoption will not be interupted but now that the babies are here it may be a little delayed bc the babies have to be put into the home study. Anyone know anything about this?
Thanks!

First of all Congratulations.

Adding the babies to your home study should not take much time. The SW may want to know their names and a little about their personality. During our homestudy, we had a family member (child) move in with us. That child needed to be added as well. Took about an hours visit. Good luck.

I would think the visit will be to collect info on the babies like weights and health info. How the delivery went and where was baby while you were in hospital. How are you handling the stress and how will you handle the stress of bringing home 3 babies and caring for the others too. They will be very interested in this and also how you will finance all of this too. How are you paying for college etc... It depends on the interviewer some are more thorough than others Good luck with them all and I hope you have a good support system.

Anytime there is a "disruption" in the family (addition of children or aging parents, a divorce, a huge job change, etc.) they update the homestudy. As long as your children (newly born-congrats! and almost adopted-congrats!) all seem to be adjusting well to each other and you seem to handle all of them in stride, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Wow! You must be tired... and three times as happy.

Congratulations!!

We were told that we would have to have a new homestudy done if we adopted or added another child before we could foster/adopt again. So I guess this is just a common thing.

Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for posting! All the babies are stillin the hospital but everyone is off oxygen! I just feel like my life in on hold until they come home. We're hoping they'll come home right aroundhalloween. It's going to be a looong month! I did hire a nanny almost a month ago, THANK GOD! She's been a huge help! I hope we can move fast with the homestudy. I'm going to call our social worker on Moday.
Thanks again!

When you have the home study make sure you tell them you have a nanny.Do you have to have her background check with DCFS ?I know the agencys check I just did not know if you had to.
