Bottle Rot...?

Do bottle rotted teeth get loose?
I have a 13 month old with two loose lower teeth and NO fall but a bit of discoloration around the base.
What do you think?

The teeth sound as if they are damaged/decayed and they could be painful eventually.

Does the child have a hard time eating with the teeth or appear to be unphased by them?

Regardless, they may cause damage to other teeth that are developing beneath them. I would definitely have them checked by a pediatric dentist.

Our J has 2 rotten front teeth they are not loose just more than half rotted off.I do not know if they fall out or not but here they will not pull them out they want them to stay in plac as a space saver for the adult teeth. They did want to do root canal on them but the county health dept wanted to do it WITHOUT sedation!!! I am lookin around tryin to find a private dintist that will see him.
Good Luck

In most states you are required to take all foster children to a dentist within a certain time of placement. In this case, get the child there quickly. While bottle rot does not typically affect adult teeth, you still need to have it addressed as to pain, control of the decay and "holding" the spots open for the adult teeth. I have had fosters where they have capped them with silver. My dentist informed me that while it is hard to look at a child with all silver teeth, it is the best substance to use.
