I will try to keep this as uncomplicated as possible. My FS is two. His mother and I get along very well. She was expecting a new baby, and asked me to be in the delivery room. His mother (A) delivered a beautful baby boy on Friday. As it turns out I was unable to be in the delivery room due to the fact that the baby came to quickly. A is a Heroin addict, and has been using Methadone for the last 4 months. She has been doing very well, and has been told that if the only drug in her system and the babies system at birth was Methadone she would be allowed to keep custody of the baby. If there were any other drugs I would receive custody. We knew that baby would be born addicted, and have to be transported to a different hospital upon birth to be detoxed. However the baby was born with more issues. He was born with the cord wrapped around his neck, he had swollowed dirty amneotic fluid, and he has a hole in his lungs. He was placed on life support and transfered immediatlly to the other hospital. He is improving. However I ask you all to please pray for this little guy. He is an innocence baby who has done nothing wrong. I ask all of you that believe to please keep this baby in your prays.

My prayers are with these baby. A couple of questions? Was the baby born premature? How much did he weigh? The reason I ask is because both of these issues have alot to do with how strong he is to make it thru this.

He is only three weeks early, and weights 7lbs 4oz. I just received an update. He is off the resperator. He is still having difficulty breathing, but he is breathing on his own. He seems to be a very strong baby, and is responding well. Thank you for your prayers.

I am curious too, if she was using heorine - if there was any signs of other drugs.

My first child was in the NICU- scared the bajeebers outta me, but he pulled through and now he is 13.

Update - Baby is doing ok. no other drugs were found in her system or babies. State is going to court to get dependency, but baby will be going home with mom when he is ready. They will be watching closely, and paternity testing the two potential fathers, so they can court order dad to services.
I am very happy baby will be going home with mom. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
