We got called by a close friend about a little girl who is now a candidate for adoption. We are on vacation but have been on the phone with our cw who has already sent our homestudy into the snap team. We just got officially licensed last week and it would be so great to have her and know she would be truly ours even as we went into fostering other kids. Ezra wouldn't be so scared about kids leaving if he knew he had one forever sibling. Have any of you applied for a child whose foster parents weren't interested in adoption? If so, were there lots of families competing? She is two and has some delays and several "possible" physical issues that aren't confirmed. We happen to know her through a friend so we know her issues are managable but on paper they look scary and she is considered special needs. Has anyone else applied for a child without having fostered them? Is there anything I could do to get the snap team to consider us? Thanks in advance...

Our ason #3 came to us through someone we knew of. And we were selected as his aparents. He's also 2 yrs old and a perfect match for us. Sometimes I really think it's luck that someone gets picked over someone else.

Yea I don't know how they get picked but it does seem like there is "luck" involved.
