TPR hearing again

Well we go on the 30th for our TPR hearing again! I hope and pray this time it will go through instead of being postponed again.
I know that bmom says that bdad had left town and the state says they have everything in order this time so we will see.
I just want it done so F can have some closer. We have had K and S for over a year now and the girls for 6 months.
I am getting nervous and dont know what to expect ,we have gone in so sure it would happen that day but let down.Just pray it happens and that F will be okay.

We are still in the appeal wait with J and also the adotpion staffing is waiting on the g-aunt to get a home study done so they can staff it and decide where our little guy will be.We pray it is with us .

My thoughts and prayers are with you too. We go on 10/30 for our first attempt at TPR. I have no clue what to expect, but pray that everything goes smoothly.

Thanks to all,
Now we have Ernesto to contend with(the hurricane) if the winds get above 45 mile per hour then they close all the bridges down and in this city you have to cross a bridge to get from one side of town to the other. So now we have to worry about it being cancelled due to haveing to evacuate due to a hurricane it is projected to hit here wednesday.
Just pray it wont hit and that we dont have to leave

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - delays are so frustrating! And I definitely hope the hurricane bypasses you!

We had 4 TPR hearings. Finally after the 3rd I hired my own attorney and he got things on track quickly. Consider hiring your own attorney should things not resolve themselve in a timely manner.

Deb I will be praying that Ernesto fizzles out and that things go smoothly for you. You all deserve it.

I didnt know we as foster parents had the right to hire an attorney.

They are doing a home study on my foster daughters grandmother right now, who I fear won't be a safe home for her. I am terrified, but pray that God will see that she stays with us.

Anyone can hire an attorney to do anything. It is your right as an American.

In California after about 6 to 8 months, you can go for "De Facto Parenthood Status" which give you all of the legal rights to the legal action that the parents have. Your state may or may not have something similar.

As a Foster Parent you are not a party to the legal action and your attorney can't argue in court. However, he can support you and assert your rights when dealing with the social workers outside of court. The social workers in my case got right in line after a few calls were placed to them and to the County Counsel. It also helped motivate the childrens attorney. It is a big help.

It cost me $2,500 in Los Angeles. It was the best money I have ever spent in my life.
