ODD and RAD

I had one fd that had RAD and it took her a long time to attach. I dont know if she will ever really be able to truely attach to any family.

We are presented w/ another situation and I dont know if we are able to handle the child (7 year old possibly 8).

The child suffers from ODD and RAD and aggressive behaviors and possible sexual abuse and has choked the family cat and is aggressive towards another kid in the other home by kicking a 12 year old in the head.

We too have a 12 year old and the CW was concerned. I dont think that my daughter would ever let another child kick her as my daughter is very hormonal right now and I dont know if they wont both be on each other's nerves.

With all these issues what does a fp really need to know or how to overcome all these past traumas collectively?

Wow - that's a lot to handle all at once. My FS has ODD, and some milder attachment problems - but his only manifest in verbal defiance. He actually does comply - but has to argue a lot first :-) With the agressive behaviours - towards older children and animals, and possible sexual acting out - I really don't think I'd do it with any other children in the house. It'll certainly be a full time job, anyway!

I wouldn't be able to do that either. We love our animals so much, it would freak us out!! Sexual abuse and a daughter - yet another risk I would not want to take.
