Legal Guardianship vs Adoption in Florida
Can someone give me some information regarding what the difference is between Legal Guardianship and Adoption?
We are fostering 2 boys - and I am under the impression that if we adopt them, that will will no longer be able to receive support for them....which would make it incredibly difficult financially. Can anyone give me insight into this situation? Thanks  Val

From what we have been told( we live in FL too) by 2 different agency's is that we will still get a subsidy(?) for our guys when we get to adopt.We will also get to keep the medicaid if we choose to.I would check with your agency and ask them.

http://www.nacac.org/stateprofiles/florida.html Read number 3. It looks like the adoption subsidy is 80% the foster care rate...if your child qualifies. Are you adopting a sibling group?
