Anyone homeschool foster kids?

Just curious if anyone has homeschooled their foster kids. My daughter, and my fd will be five in August, and I am considering homeschool, but wondering if there are any rules about this?

Thanks!

We are not allowed to. We are in PA. I will be adopting my Fd (H) on Aug 16. and I will be enrolling her in a cyber charter school. My bio daughter is going to stay in public school for now, but H wants to give this a try.

We homeschool our 4 bio. children, but are not allowed to homeschool our fc. Last school year I had 1 fs go to kindergarten in one town, 1 fs go to school in another town (special needs school), and 1 fs go to school in yet another town. Sure would have been a lot easier to homeschool.

If we get to adopt, we will homeschool them all.

I have home-schooled for 11 yrs. and told my worker I would only take in foster kids if they could be home-schooled. She said fine and I did .

Is Kindergarten in your state mandatory? If not, you might be able to homeschool her for Kind....however, we were told it just doesn't happen! I do know of a mom who is straight adopting 14 yr old twins and received permission from their homestate to homeschool. They were pretty far behind and would be 21 by the time the graduated if they remained in public school. This was the first time their home state had EVER allowed foster children to be homeschooled.......so she felt pretty happy! In the 2 months they've been home, she's seen them skyrocket w/ their learning! Good luck!

WE just got permission to home school F.As long as we enroll her with an umbrella school so that way the state sees it as she is with a private school. I am SOOOOO happy about this. She is behind and they passed her even though she can not do the work. This way I can let her go at a slower pace and get her cought up!

So you might try that route oh and we also have to put her in some type of out side activity like gymnastic, girl scouts, etc.
