Our first placement..
Hey all. We just had our first placement - 2 little boys, ages 4 and 2 leave us to go back home. They were here only a month...but we grew to love them so very much. We miss them terribly - and the house seems deathly quiet. I am trying very hard to be brave - but the tears can't quite seem to stop coming.
I knew their return was probably inevitable...but it doesn't make their absence any less difficult. Please pray for the safety of these 2 little boys. We will miss them for a long time to come.

I'm sending you cyber hugs and prayers!! BTDT but they didn't go home, they went to a family that could take in all 5 siblings.

Aww, hugs. My aunt is a foster parent. She deals with infants (sometimes only days or weeks old). She sometimes ends up keeping them for 6 months or so, and she HATES to see them go when the time comes.
She just returned a 6m old boy to his birthmom a few weeks ago. It was bittersweet of course because she had taken care of him since 2 weeks old, but she was also happy that his birthmom has gotten a more suitable place to live and a job. Hopefully your boys are returning to a home situation that's better than it was when they left.

Sorry to hear that. I fear that call every day myself but we just have to keep in mind that there will always be more kids to come. You are in my prayers and so are you kids.

So Sorry
You have my prayers. Our little ones are going to great grandman in a couple weeks. I know that the house being so quiet is going to drive me nuts. I asked the social worker today to place us as soon as my fs and fd leave us.
Nothing can take the place of my foster children that I have now, but at least I can fill that quiet void a little. Good luck and you will remain my thoughts

Thanks, you guys.
Your support and encouragement mean so much. It is wonderful to be able to share with those that understand exactly how I feel. See you guys around more - I'm sure!!!

I know how you feel. There is an emptiness after they leave and it's particularly hard with the first placement.
Cyberhugs to you...

I know how you feel! I have an italian charm bracelet with pics of all of my little ones. After they leave, I pick out my favorite picture and have it turned into a charm. That way, I can carry all of my babies with me always. It helps me deal.
