Interim fostering
We are in the middle of doing a guatemala adoption but I was thinking of doing interim adoption while we wait. Can anyone tell me their feelings on this or give me any information?
Just in case I'm not using the right term, I mean the fostering of infants between the time that their moms deliver them and they are adopted.

Good point, I hadn't thought about that. The lady from the agency is calling me back tomorrow. I'll have to make sure I ask.
Thanks!

I know in our county, they try to send infants home with a fost/adopt family. Sometimes they wait in the hospital until they can do this. They don't like to move infants, so they try to get a possible long-term placement before placing them. I know that when they have to place infants that are at home, they will try to find a placement before removing the kids. Once again they try to find a fost/adopt placement in case they don't go home.
It will be interesting to hear what other states/counties do. I'm in Colorado. Good luck with your adoption. |
