Birth Mother going to rehab for 2nd time.

Our FD's (3months) birth mother is going to rehab for the second time. She was kicked out/quit the CW said because she has mental health issues (nice to know, they forgot to tell us that) and she wasn't on her medications and it was a very religious program that doesnt work for everyone. CW didnt seem very upset but now she is on her meds and going to the same one again. Has anyone had this happen? If she doesn't complete it this time what happens. We live in Texas if that makes a difference.

Hi TXMOM, My wife & I recently were awarded guardianship of two boys (5 & 12) whose mother lost custody due to drug abuse and domestic violence issues with their father(s) and her live-in boyfriend. (It's a long story). So far, she's failed to follow the court required Anger management classes and is due for another drug test. If she continues to skip her classes and if she fails another drug test, there's a very real possiblility the CW will push for TPR (Termination of Parental Rights). That would probably put us in first position for adoption as their family is in Ohio (we're in FL) and no ones's interested in taking them in.

It's a "wait and see" situation for us as "the ball is in the mothers' court". It all really depends on how motivated the mother is.

Good Luck!
