Requesting to remove foster children
Well, after much soul searching and talk between me, the CASA worker and the girl's therapist I have decided to ask for the girls to be moved. The CASA worker stated that DCYF had done nothing in an effort to make this placement work and that she was very upset about it. The judge in this case had ordered DCYF to give me whatever services I needed to make this work and even though I had been begging for respite since Feb. nothing was done to help me. The SW has to go in front of the judge for this case next week and I am sure the judge will have a few choice words to say seeing as DCYF did not comply with the court order. I have given everything I could to try and make this work (sometimes at the expense of my own sanity) but with 7 children I just could not do it alone and DCYF apparently did not feel the need to try and help. It really is a shame because I honestly think that with regular respite I could have made this work but I think at this point that even if they did offer it, it would be too little too late.
I told the SW that I would cooperate fully to ease the transition into a new home. I told the SW I want them moved by the end of the month. I'll see if the SW actually follows through or if I will have to give them a "10 days notice" to force the move. I really don't want to have to do that but will if the SW drags her feet. Now I have the guilt to deal with and will worry that they will find a nice foster family and not go a family like T's previous foster home.

Anne,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. The girls will always remember they were loved in your home, even if they don't act like it.
