We've Finalised!
This past Monday in a court room full of loving and supportive friends and family, my wife and I finalised the adoption of our dear FD who is now our dear AD.
A is five and she looked so tiny in that big chair. The conversation between the magistrate and her went something like this. Miss A was speaking in the most tiny of voices. M, "A, do you know why you're here?" A, "Yes." Pregnant silence M, "Would you like to tell me why?" A, "So they", pointing and mom and dad, "can be my mom and dad forever and so I can stay with them forever." M, "Is that what you want?" A, "Yes." Not a dry eye in the house I tell you. Finished MAPP classes August 2005. 2nd home visit Feb 13th 2006 Safety inspection Feb 20th. Licenced May 20th Got Baby 'J' Wednesday May 24th 2006!   She is so Beautiful. We love her so!   Goal was changed to adoption February 23rd! TPR trial was June 8th. Adoption finalized August 10, 2007 http://jamieandus.blogspot.com/

~Faith~ FD 14 YRS Old Placed 4/21/05 TPR granted on 11/01/06 of BioF by BioF! TPR granted on 11/05/06 of BioM by Judge 6 days after 4 days of hearings! Will be adopting FD once paper work is processed and finalized! B is the LOVE of MY HEART!

It was a pretty emotional day. We had a GREAT openhouse party that lasted almost 5 hours.
On the same day, our ex-caseworker helped us get a new Birth Cert in record time and by early afternoon we had an application for a passport. We're headed over-seas in June. A told my wife this afternoon that this week was the best week ever.

all the AI attempts insurance would cover and one IVF attempt that insurance did not cover - before July 04 started investigating adoption - July 04 signed with agency - Sept 04 Homestudy complete April 05- "we're in the book!" Considered May and July 05 - not chosen DD born August 05 - we're chosen that same day - home in 24 hours what an awesome baby girl!!! Wish we went right to adoption!! WE'VE FINALIZED!!! FOREVER OURS 4/28/06  Working on domestic adoption #2 - submitted paperwork early Feb 07.....  In the Books April 1 - no foolin'!!! Match fell through, end of June - bmom decided to parent. Disruption of baby girl in August - bmom decided to parent.... Matched - December 2007 Baby born Feb 08 - Welcome Baby Cakes!!

Thanks everybody! The first forever week has been a bit rocky--but that's what being a parent is.
We are so looking forward to our vacation next month.

Congratulations! I know what a big day it is. My grandson is adopted and my 2 granddaughters are in the works??? Enjoy your new life!
