The Visit Odd Behavior

I wish that I could get into my little guys head and see what he is thinking. We went to his 1 hour supervised visit when we got out of the car he startd crying. He said mommy I scared it broke my heart. That is where we picked him up. He continued to say I scared until he saw his brother who is 17. He went to him was acting strange withdrawn not smiling. His mom went to tickle his stomach and he pushed her away and said stop. When we came back in an hour the baby wanted me the 2 year old was laying his head on his moms shoulder when we put him in the car and his mom was gone he ask where she was I said we will see mommy again and he was happy again. When we were role playing during class and they gave us an example of how it would feel to be a foster child. They said a strange person comes to your home and takes you to stangers and drops you off. Different set of rules you are scared to death. As the month turns into a year and you have a new set of parents who love you you have a dog fluffy and a set of foster siblings. You are happy and life is good . A year goes by and that strange person comes and tells you to pack your going home. You get plopped back into a strangers home fluffy is not there your sibblings are not there. Hom is not what you remember it. I'm thinking he is starting over again he likes it here. they can break your heart. I hope she gets her act together this time.

You made me cry... I have a 30mos old girl and a 14mos old boy. Thier parents are just not making it work and it looks like in June the will TPR. The agency, after a long battle, has let me start the adoption process. They had been fighting to place the kids (that I have had for a year) with an adoptive placement because they felt I was too fat to adopt. I could not imagine then and I can not imagine now my little man, much less his sister going back to them or anyone else. He crys when me, my mom or dad leave the room (my parents are elderly and I live with and help them) we took him for a visit the other day and as I pulled away he just started howling, and I had to fight everything in my soul not to run and grab him and tell them to take a hike.

In this state it is illegal for a "parent " to cause emotional distress to a child on purpose and I don't know how you prevent it in cases like this... We're suppose to be protecting these kids and it seems like visits confuse the young ones more than helps them.

shnoogiepoo,

Are you saying that the CW came out and told you that they were considering moving the children based on your weight? I can't believe how callous and rude that CW is. If they don't have a problem with you being the foster parent I don't think it should be a problem to be the adoptive parent. These children have been with you for a year and I am sure love you for who you are -- their parent. I am sorry you are being treated this way.
