Excited! I got a call today for a 3 month old infant baby girl, CC. There will be a removal but baby is currently in the hospital. I'm waiting to get more details from the case worker. I'm probebly setting myself up again for another heart break if they simply send her home, but hopefully (crossing finger, praying) that she gets a good judged assigned to her case and they actually try and help the parents before sending another battered child home

She sustained a serious injury and will need special help, may need a future surgery, but she does not appear to have suffered permanent damage. She won't be dischaged from the hospital for a few days so anything can happen between now and then (as I have learned).. for now I'm excited to fill my arms, they've been empty this week. I've had way too much time on my hands and am ready for another baby!!!

That's exciting.

(Doesn't it feel weird sometimes to feel excited over things like this? It's great to have another kid in the house, but also terrible how they come to be here.

I am still waiting for our first call as foster parents and already torn about if I'm happy or sad about it.

I figured "exciting" is a safer word.)

I know each time I pray or think I want a baby I have to stop and think but that means a child needs to be abused or hurt so I just pray I can be there for them when they need me. I'm just excited/happy to have a baby come into my home the other part is heart breaking.

I did'nt mean to sound happy for the injury. My heart dropped when the SW told me about her injury it is so similar to our first little baby girl that left and just about broke my heart. This is my 3rd placement call that has been a serious injury to an infant. I had no idea that it was this common for babies to sustain these types of injuries.

I'm going to start praying that this baby receives a fair chance. I'm also better equiped to fight for her.

I also was feeling bad about praying to get a placement. We are now in the process of changing agencies and when I told the licensing worker that I felt terrible about wishing for a placement because it meant that a child was in a terrible situation, she said not to feel bad because there are many children in abusive homes whether they are being removed or not. Remember, these children are out there, when you pray to have a child placed in your home, God know your heart and knows you are praying to have a child safe and loved in your home instead of suffering and being scared.

Its always sad to know why these kids are in the system, I hate the most when its abuse to such a small one, but always remember whithout us where they would be. I'm happy for your placement and to will pray for a full recovery. God bless all that take care of these kids.
