Anyone have any exp w/ septic ileus?
My 2 mo old fs has the worst time stooling. When I took him to the Dr last week, she mentioned that birthmom noticed this problem with him back at his 2 week checkup. ** said one of her other children was just like this and was diagnosed with septic ileus and had to have surgery to correct it. At last night's visit, ** again mentioned how much baby was acting like older sibling when she had this condition.
I had asked the Dr if we could pursue a diagnosis and was told that a diagnosis is very hard to obtain because the ileus slips in and out of place, so it's hard to catch it when it's out of place on a ct scan. She did say sometimes the condition can correct itself. But she also said if it is left untreated, it can be very serious! So, I'm worried and wonder if I should tell the CW about this today and see if we can push for further testing anyway. Has anyone else out there heard of this condition, and what was your experience with it? TIA
