Not feeling so strong today

Hi all,

I'm having a bad weekend. I just feel... tired. I'm exhausted by parenthood. It's been a trying week, behavior wise, and today is the 1 year anniversary of Austin's placement. I should be happy, I should be celebrating, but instead I feel like crawling into a dark corner and crying.

Any words of wisdom?

I don't have any major words of wisdom :-( , as ours haven't been here that long. but as our oldest turned 8 on Tuesday and has been a terror for days I can say I understand!

No words of wisdom

No words of wisdom here but I am sending you all the good vibes I can. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Is is possible for you to get out by yourself for at least an afternoon and do something relaxing and just for you?

Here's hoping you feel better soon!!!!!!

Amyanne,

You are such a wonderful mother to Austin. He has been really pushing things lately, and perhaps his anniversary has something to do with it.

You need some time to yourself to enjoy yourself and recharge your batteries. A trip to a spa for a long weekend, perhaps. Camping? A retreat? Perhaps a trip to a big city and lots of theater? Something for YOU.

I spent some time this weekend with a friend of mine who also adopted older children, and we had a blast. We had dinner with two other moms who are raising attachment disordered children, and it was so rejuvenating. My Dh took the kids for me this morning and I took it easy before doing some chores in our quiet house. I did some volunteering at the school gym during the basketball games, and saw some of my friends there.

You need these moments to fill your tank. Short term plan: a hot bubble bath, the New Yorker, and sleeping a little later while the DH takes care of the kids in the morning.

You are an awesome mom! Hang in there! You are not alone, sister, not by a long shot!

Hugs for you. Have a good cry in your corner and come out when/if your batteries get recharged. They can really really push us sometimes!
