baby monitors???

hi there...have a silly question for those of you that have a lot of experience with babies.

when you have babies in more than one room, what do you do about baby monitors? can you buy two bases to transmit into one receiver?

is there even a way to do that???

just wondering if anyone's been in that situation and what you have done.

also, if you have two sets of monitors, do they interfere with each other?

ack!!! thanks for any info!

I had a monitor in each room. They were both different brands and I did not have any problems with interference. The hardest part is remembering which monitor is in which room so when one of the babies cries out in the night you know which one it is (I am not very coherent in the middle of the night .).

thanks for both of those replies...that makes me feel better knowing that the two brands *hopefully* won't interfere.

i don't know why but with all the things going on right now with training and life, for some reason i started freaking out about that the other night! anyway, i knew i could ask around here!!!

thanks again!

I got a super monitor that has 2 receivers and 3 monitors. That way I can put one receiver in my bedroom and one in the den. I have a monitor in each of the 2 nurseries and one in my room.

Each monitor has a color coded light on it that corresponds with a colored light on each receiver. It continually scans from room to room. The monitor in my room is for when I have a newborn in the bassinet sleeping I can hear if they wake up while I'm in the front of the house.

This monitor costs about $120, but is worth every penny. If you want more info on where I got it or the brand, please feel free to pm me and I'll get the info to you.

Blessings,
Lynda

I saw one at kmart. It had one monitor but two receivers which also doubled as monitors so that you could monitor two rooms at the same time.

Oops. Forgot one thing about my system. If each of two adults wants to they can carry a monitor (battery or wall outlet operated). By doing so, they can talk with each other from different areas of the house or outside. Each receiver acts kind of like a walkie talkie.

Dbl L, can you PM me the name/brand of your monitor?

Also, I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of this... We heard about it in our infant care class, the teacher told us about it, I assumed it'd be easy to find, and no luck. So I'm wondering now if she knows of something in the works, but not yet out.. she said something about a monitor that has humidity/climate indicators on it that will sound an alarm if the room gets too hot/humid... the idea is to prevent SIDS. Has anyone heard of such a thing? We looked for something like this and have no clue where to find such a monitor. It may be something in the works, but if it's out there and available, I'd love for help in figuring out what it's called!

Thanks!
