Foster Adoption Books
I'm looking for books for young children about foster adoption. Most adoption books are for newborn domestic or international adoptions and don't really fit our family situation. Any suggestions?

Zachary's New Home by Blomquist is really really good.

I have also been trying to find appropriate books for my daughter who was adopted at 2 1/2 from the foster care system. She loves Happy Adoption Day (I think it's really about International Adoption of an older baby, but the words are really beautiful). And I just purchased How I Was Adopted by Jonna Cole. It is not about foster care adoption either but, the little girl tells how she was adopted and that there are different kinds of adoptions and it asks questions like "how old were you when you were adopted" and "what is your adoption story".
Both of these books have at least started conversations for our daughter. And they fit her story better than some. I would also be interested in finding out what books others suggest. - Suz

My lunch hour is over and I already closed my Amazon window, but when I looked up Zachary's New Home to see the author's name, there were a couple other similar books mentioned that sounded good.

The Child Study Center puts out a comic book about foster care for kids, you can get it on their website. Also, I just got some fairy tale books in a series called The Forever Child by Nancy A. Clark.
