Foster to Adoption in MA
My husband and I are in the process of adopting through the state via a private agency. We have a bio son who will turn 6 this March and were confident that this was the best way to grow our family. We are looking for MA success stories and/or heartbreaks. Our foster trainer/social worker was very negative and basically said we were being too restrictive (we are looking for a boy or girl, under the age of 4, any race, no major medical or terminal illness, no FAS, we are also open to a sibling pair). We were not alone in our view of this social worker, many prospective parents in our class were hoping to get paired with someone more positive and reassuring. Given the huge caseload of that social worker, we were paired with a very upbeat, fresh out of school intern who was adopted herself. She seemed a lot more positive but we haven't heard much yet. Our home study is complete and we are waiting.
Could any Baystaters please share??? We would very much appreciate it. ____________________________________________ Mother to a wonderful boy almost 6 Began researching adoption in April of 04 Began training with agency in June 05 Completed homestudy in Sept. Waiting with hope now... |
