Well, once again we are so chatty we have to start over!!!!

So what's everyone doing for Turkey Day?

We are doing Thanksgiving with my family. We always do. Matt's family gets us at Christmas (they are 800 miles away). We will all have a great big meal, eat too much, play some games and then eat some more!!!!!

Turkey Day Plans

The kids and I will be spending the holiday with my family (I am single). There are so many of us that we are having Thanksgiving at a local grange hall. One year we had 75 family members present!!!!!

I have no idea how many will be there this year. The only thing I know for sure is that it will be wonderful - lots of little kids, middle size kids, big kids and those of us who are kids at heart. Lots to eat, great fellowship with loved ones - family and anyone who doesn't have a place to go.

Blessings to all,
Dbl L

We're having Thanksgiving at our home this year. Two of our fs's will be spending T-day with their mom. We all eat to much also, and we like to play dominoes "Chicken Foot".

I think my husband and I are venturing into the wilds called the "mall" the day after Thanksgiving. We enjoy the crowds and have fun spending the day together, shopping for the (8) kids.

Have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving everyone!!

my new BIG family will be going to my mom's house. She is looking forward to cooking & having the house full again. The last 6 years its been so quiet on the holiday. We had our only son & the leftovers were overwhelming. We will probably decorate for christmas the day after orThanksgiving day before we go to dinner. We cannot wait to show all the kids our big Santa& we will go all out with the lights. My son is so happy to be sharing all his xmas memories.

We are going to my family's house. Traveling early on Turkey day by car. They haven't met the girls in person yet so it should be fun.

This is the first year that we won't be traveling for Christmas. We figure with 2 kids and 1 on the way, it is time for us to start traditions at home/ Plus traveling with presents, etc is not appealing.

Well, after my BIG decision to put MY family's happiness above the selfishness/nastiness/emptiness/etc. of my extended family and NOT go to my brother's for Thanksgiving..............

It goes like this: I told my mom the boys and I would NOT be going to my brother's for Thanksgiving. She said fine, she was going to some friends' houses anyway (which I knew) and was going to work on the Christmas display in the windows at her company. Then she called a couple days later to invite the boys and I (and my brother's family) to her house the Sunday AFTER Thanksgiving for brunch and to have the kids help her put up her Christmas tree. I thought, GREAT! Relaxing, no SIL's family members, no turkey (which the boys hate), this will be nice after all.
Yah, well...........turns out my SIL somehow (don't ask me, it was QUITE clear on MY answering machine) misunderstood this as an invitation from my mother to host Thanksgiving at her house.

WHAT?????????????????????

And of course, my mother, the queen of NO Confrontation, did NOT call her back to tell her she misunderstood. And now she's stuck having Thanksgiving. (Yes, I offered - but she said no) So I told her to let me know what dishes I could make to bring, so she wouldn't have to do so much, and that she should tell my SIL what to make as well.
Yah..........well, now it's Wednesday afternoon. No word from my mother, and the grocery stores in our little town are closed tomorrow - I've asked her every day the last few days what she wants me to make - have even made suggestions - but.............
apparently she wants to avoid the topic altogether.

ACK!!!!!!

So.........am not sure exactly what is happening. Don't know what time either. Or what to bring.

Lord, my family puts the FUN in dysfunctional!!!!!!

On a good note, however, will not have to spend ANY time with racist SIL's family, which is a true blessing. So am running with that.

OH!!!!!!!!!! I have the funniest cartoony card thingy my mom sent me. It is soooooooooooooooooo funny!!!! Here's the link: (hope it works!)

Sandy that is soo cute.

Well I was waiting for a placement age 12 months and under. It is 3:30am and I just got back 30 min ago from the county. I got a call at 1am for a baby girl 13 months old. I said yes. Went and picked her up. She is almost two. But she sure is cute. She is short and really really chubby (a little to chubby). Dont know how long she will be here. Mom was drunk and waving a knife yelling she was going to kill someone. So she was taken to a mental health hospital. She needs to be there for 3 days. The doctor will determine if she needs to stay longer or if she can be around her children. This was a sibling group of four. I got the youngest, another family from our agency took the twins, and sw was still looking for a home for the oldest. It was so sad. She was standing there all alone and crying. It broke my heart. I wish I had more room for her. The little one came dirty and stinky. I had to give her a bath she had stuff all over her hair. Then I rocked her and she fell asleep in 5 min.

Hope you had a wonderful thankgiving. good night.

Oh I forgot, you know how my other kiddos name start with a J. Well so does this one. Funny huh

16 kids? Hmmm I was thinking more in having 20 . Some days I do feel I have 16 of them.

Well Im inlove. She is soooo cute. She is such a charmer. She has good eye contact. Loves to hug, but not very clingy. She hates to go to sleep, but she cries for about 5 min and then plays and falls asleep. The sad part is I cant keep her . We have three bedroom and Girl J has to have her own room for awhile. Boy J and Little J share a room. I can have this New J in my room in a crib till she is two. Which is only a month. Thats why I asked for 12 mnths or under. They told us she was 12 mnths old, but when I got home I saw her b-day and she was 22 mnths old. I called my cm and she said she will see what can be done on Monday. I want to keep her. She is sooo cute. She and Little J look alike they look like twins. They look real cute together and play very well. Bummer

Deb-I really am inlove with this little one. Im thinking of moving out of the masterbedroom and put the three little one in there, but hubby does not want to becouse she might go home. We have not heard anything yet, but usually when we get emergency placement they leave real soon. I hope not. She is so cute and so sweet. She is very smart too.
