Question about babysitting...

Our fs is 15 months old and for the time that he is with us, he is always with me or my husband. Is we need to go out for a few hours, can he stay with a babysitter or I need to look for another foster parent? Sorry maybe is a silly question but I really don't know if the babysitter of my daughters can babysit him too.

Thanks, I learn a lot with all your inputs.

In GA we had to get the babysitter to fill out a form and do a background check. The sitter had to be over 18. Call your worker and ask their requirements.

Different areas have different requirements. Your best bet is to ask your worker.

Here, we don't need to do checks for anyone who watches them for a few hours occasionally. Anything that is overnight or regular care requires a background check and fingerprinting.

With us we have to contact our agency and they have to get a respite sitter. We "earn" one paid day a month of respite care. We should have taken some! lol

Thanks a lot, I found that for

ocassionally babysitting an adult caretaker can do it.

Thanks again,

My agency also requires that the sitter have a background check and be over 18, but it doesn't have to be a licensed foster parent.
