Well, after nearly 2 years, we are finalizing the adoption this month of our two girls. I still cannot believe it, but at the same time, I am so ready for all of this to be done and over with and get to some semblence of normal. I still do not know if I'll ever be able to get over the comments of "do you have any children of your own?" ---YES, here they are, these two beautiful girls are OURS now and forever! anyway, just wanted to share and hopefully encourage any of you who are still waiting or hoping to adopt. It does happen and we are so over joyed with the girls. We've definitely been through some rough times with these kiddos, but it is worth it in the end.

Hooray!
Hello Marsha4,
Congrats! I really needed to read something like that! Ahhhh, the winds of hope! We have two boys that just got TPR after 23 months. Our caseworker (who wants us to adopt these boys and start a normal, well deserved life with us) says she "can't hand pick" the adoption caseworker, but because she has been with the system for close to 25 years, knows which adoption caseworker is fast and worth her salt...and that a "well placed sticky note" on the report to her supervisor has often been the ticket needed! (And this was a high profile case within the office -- every adoption caseworker wants to get all the siblings involved off to a better life!) Soooooo, I am thrilled for you...and a bit envious, as I CANNOT wait to be able to shout those same words down the road.... (and I am fairly certain I will, as I have been able to shout "Termination at last!" and "We got twins!") However, I will feel soooo much better when that ink is dried on those adoption papers! Again - congrats and God Bless your little family!
