Hi guys!
Given you have all been so supportive and helpful in our consideration of various children/sib-sets, I wanted to share a bit of good news... Yesterday we attended an event where we were we met our future daughter! - She is 14 years old (completely not what we thought we were doing intially) and is intellegent, articulate, spunky, academically focused and we just fell in love with her! - The group who held the event helps families to match up with foster children seeking adoption by allowing them to host the child on weekends to determine if the match is the right one. They then step in to push forward the adoption process. They are called Kid Save Weekend Miracles and having met with those involved - I am greatly encouraged about their ability to advocate for this adoption and move things along. She can spend her weekends with us as soon as next weekend and we are likely going to do that so she can meet our bios and start getting a feel for our family. We met her and we just knew! - For those of you following our journey - we are still planning on adopting a sib-set, we will just first focus on T. We are thrilled and excited and are trying to figure out how to shift our preparations from a 5 year old to a nearly 15 year old girl.... anyone who has thoughts we welcome them! - Thank you guys foryour continued support - I'll keep you updated! S-

Wow.........that is so inspiring!!!
I can't imagine going from the 5 yr old mindset to a 15 yr old mindset. But as a sub. teacher who works mainly in the high school arena, I can honestly say there a quite a few of my students I'd happily take home. I am sooooooo happy for you! What a revelation. I hope it all goes smoothly for you. Congratulations!!!!! ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))) Sandy

I googled them and checked out their website. I assume you went through the agency located in CA? Please PM me with information. As we're waiting to adopt a daughter age 4-13. Thanks, Leena
