African American hair in Indianapolis IN
We finished our classes almost 2 weeks ago. I had been talking to this AA foser mom to be. she was going to teach me how to braid. But she left before I can give her my phone # and Email address. I have no idea if I will see her again or not.
We are in indianapolis we are open to any race. our son is AA too. Is there anyone who can show me how to do AA girls hair.I would really appreciate it. Thanks kim PS I posted here too because the INd. board is so dead |

Can't teach you myself as I have AA boys as well - but there are some great websites and books out there.
"It's All Good Hair" by Michele N-K Collison is FANTASTIC. Also try www.Blackkidshair.com for AA haircare tips and styles. Hope that helps! Sandy

Great Web Site
You can find hairstylists by looking for braids in the Yellow Pages. Check downtown, especially.
Here's a great web site that taught me a lot. http://herspecialhair.com/ How's the weather in Indy? I'm an ex-pat Hoosier from Greenwood.

training on ethnic hair
The Iowa Foster and Adoptive Parents Association has a training on how to care for ethnic hair. If you contact them, you might be able to get handouts from the class sent to you or download them from their website. www.ifapa.org
