HI. I am an adoptive parent through KCSL in KS. My neighbors are WONDERFUL FP. Here is the problem:

They had a boy in their care for 3 year. The are the ONLY couple that have kept this boy for over 6 months in his entire time in the foster care system. He came up for adoption, they really thought he needed to be in a home with no other kids and they have already adopted a 1 year old so they did not put into adopt him. He has FAS, and SEVERE emotional problems. His therapist put him on Depakote. It made him EXTREMELY violent so the FM took him off w/o asking anyone. She told the therapist at the next counseling appt and she went NUTS. Could not believe she had taken it upon herself to do this. The SRS SW went nuts and removed the boy their home. FF 6 months, boy has been through 3 FH. One stay a mental health hospital. They know this from other FPs. They decide to put into adopt him. They are turned down due to the fact that she took him off the Depakote. They also had another foster boy sexually abuse the foster son his their home. The SW LIED in their file and said they were trying to get the molester back into their home (WTF) and also lied saying the FM had said These kids hers she could do whatever she wanted. The SW hated these people from day one. She is LYING and is no longer even his caseworker. It is just in the file. Anyway, the FM said she treats the kids like her kids not that she could do anything she wanted. These people want to fight and try to adopt this little boy. .Should they get a lawyer who do they begin to appeal to? I know this little boy will age out and NEVER be adopted. They are his only chance. Advice?

They could try getting ahold of the child's guardian ad litem, new worker, the old worker's supervisor or the judge. They need to tell the truth about everything and say that the old worker was dishonest about them.
