That's the way we feel we are soooo happy to get the kids but then again we are sad for what the kids are going thru.
Congrats!

Day One Down
Day One went pretty well.. all seeing Miss S has some definite drama issues.. but then again what six year old doesn't?!? lol
WHEW! Found some concerns healthwise... major major diaper rash on J and a rash of some sort on S. I honestly expect this to be short term.. they seem very much loved and I think a family member will step in. Had a lot of "where's my mommy?" and "I'm scared" from the S. She drew a picture that we are going to give to her parents when we can. Poor kids... ![]()

Congrats on the long awaited placement!!! Sounds like things are off to a running start
. Might want to find some "Dr. Smith's ointment" for the rash....it's the best thing I've found. I've heard Bordeaux's Butt Paste is also good, but never tried it. My kiddos have THE MOST sensitive skin I've ever seen. I felt bad because that was one of (many) reasons the first kids were taken away, and at the first meeting with our daughter (2 days old) bmom kept saying....my kids have sensitive skin. Everyone was thinking, yea right, probably neglect. Well, I'm a fanatic about changing diapers and bathing, but she (and later her brother) got some NASTY looking rashes. They can only wear huggies supreme....the regular Huggies turn them bright red. Forget store brand diapers! The other thing I found helpful was to use plain old vaseline with every diaper change. Any juice besides apple and instant red bottom, and I have to water it down. I'm sure you'll figure out all of your gals sensitivities, but that might give you some ideas.

Congrats on your placement. I have something that will help with the diaper rash. You will need a 4 oz tub of A&D ointment plus zinc oxide paste, maalox and 2 oz tub of bacitracin ointment. Mix the two ointments together and add 1 Tbsp of the maalox to the ointment mix and stir real well. This is called Magic Butt Cream and it really works great.
My 1 year old just two weeks ago got bad diaper rash because he got five teeth all in one week. I called the doctor and this is what he told me to make. I would use it on both girls. I would also use wipes that are alcohol free like the newborn sensitive ones.

Update
Well I updated too soon last night! lol
Miss J woke up around 1:30ish.. she had been having a hard time breathing and needed some Robutusin. I measured her temp and she was at 102. ![]() I waited for the Robutusin to kick in and it went to under 100. OF COURSE she wasn't ready to go back to bed until 4:45 am and then was back up at 7:30 am. *sigh* I think I'm going to miss sleeping in!!!!! ![]()

LOL... yeap... AWW sleeping in.... what is that? LOL
FS is a very good sleeper and sleeps thru the nite and wakes up around 7ish if we let him sleep in.... FD sleeps thru most of the nite except she cries 1 times and goes back to sleep, and will wake up around 7ish... BUT the other fd, she was 15mths... and my gosh, she was a light sleeper and woke up every hour screaming every nite..... So, when we got the call for our now fd, we were like well we are going to miss sleeping thru the nite again, thank goodness she's a heavy sleeper and loves to sleep... ![]()
