About 4 months ago we had 2 beautiful little girls placed in our fost/adopt home. They are 5 and 2. Birth mom has 4 children. All of the children have been exposed to physical and sexual abuse. All of the children have watched repeatedly movies such as nightmare on elm street, Texas chainsaw massacre, Halloween, Porn...etc.. Mom has been very compliant and attends all of the visits. However is not doing anything to change her lifestyle she still hangs with the same crowd, still lives with the same abusive boyfriend etc... The Permanancy Planning Hearing is coming up soon. I am really stressing out here... I am terrified that these poor little girls will be placed back in a home where they are absolutely TERRIFIED of the mom's boyfriend. He drives her to all of the visits and every week they go flying into our arms when they see him because they are so afraid... What happens at this hearing? The caseworker knows EVERYTHING the girls have told us and knows their reaction to the bf not through seeing first hand but the other foster parent's were there and we told her.... Am I worrying needlessly? I tend to be a "Nervous Nellie" I know it was a chance when we took them that they would possibly go back... but I never knew I would love them this much... |

Gosh, just going from what you say, it is hard to believe the SW's would still recommend reunification. I know in some areas they seam to be more lenient with bparents. In our county, it seems that they are not as much. Is the bmom doing any required things like drug testing/treatment, parenting classes? If she is, then they may give her more time. If not, they may terminate services. That happened with our bparents about 8 mo. after removal, and about 7 months before TPR.
Good luck! Hopefully these kids can stay where they are loved and well cared for .
