Questions about being Black-Balled

I noticed that was mentioned in another thread.
For what reasons would a county or agency "black ball" a particular home?
Thanks,

Michelle

If the Agency/CW thought you were too difficult to work with.

If you by-pass the proper chain of command and take your foster care/agency complaints to the governor or someone else in authority outside of DHS.

... if you believe the welfare of the child is more important than the convenience of the social worker.

If you ask for one age, race, your looking for a certian child.
If you complain non stop...if you have given to many notices, theres lots of reasons for them not to use a certain home. I know a sw who wont use a certain agency, doesn't like them.

yep, the above posts tell most of the story. A social worker will black ball a family if they don't like them-and the reason's could any or many.
I was black balled for about a year when I complained about a placement. I have a friend on the board and she would tell me all about the many children that needed foster homes. I would call my sws occasionally and ask her if they needed any homes. She would tell me that it was a calm month and they haven't needed any.
I just got a wonderful boy whom I adore. Now I am really careful and hardly ask any questions and I especially try not to annoy them.

Kind of scary to think that things could work that way just because a caseworker doesn't like you.
