i am wondering if anyone knows if you have to take the classes over if your home doesnt pass? the reason i am asking is that 1 1/2 years ago we took our classes and passed with flying colors did the fingerprints and all and we was liveing in an upstairs apartment and they said since it only had one door way exit it was not approved i said ok then but now we have bought a 4 bedroom 1 1/2 bath house and we want to continue the process to adopt a child. the other problems we had involved our cw she seemed not to want us to finish the process and forgot important papers and even forgot the fingerprint kit to do my motherinlaw since she lives with us and would be a 2nd cargiver when we wasnt here. sorry about this being so long but i really want to adopt and start our family since we cant have kids. thanks for your time

I don't know the answer to your question. I would suggest contacting your local DHS office and ask to talk to the foster parent coordinator. There may be a time factor, but like I said, I don't know. Good luck in being able to begin (or continue) the process. Blessings, Lynda |

In our case, everything has to be completed with a year. Call the office to see. From different post every stat (and sometimes counties) have different laws.

well i just calledd the office and was told we would have to take the classes again but they are on a thurs night instead of sat mornings which is better for us and also the cw that we had trouble with is no longer there
. i spoke with one of the ladies that would be over our county and she seemed really nice and didnt say we would not get a child under age 2 since we are open for boy girl and also open for any state and any race |

Good Luck
Well at least if you have to redo your classes they are on a good night for you. And now you will have someone you seem to like better. So all is not lost, always look at the good in somthing reather then the bad, I wish you great luck in being a foster parent, its the best thing we ever did.
