I wanted to share, that this past weekend our state agency hosted a Foster Parent Appreciation Picnic. They served hot dogs and hamburgers w potato salad and chips.... They had activities for the kids, such as a jumper, cupcake decorating table, cake walk, craft table, face painting, etc... My fs had lots of fun and they gave us a tote bag w some goodies that were donated from the community businesses... Oh yeah, they had door prizes and gave out gifts to lucky ticket holders, we didn't win!!

That sounds like a good time! Our agency sent us a $25 gift card to AMC theatres. Nice, but a big picnic with everyone would have been great too. No need to hire a babysitter and loads of fun for the whole family.
I had no idea there was such a thing as foster parent appreciation month until now.

We had a 50 style dinner with the kids. Very nice. Kids liked it - both were surprised at the number of kids in foster care.
