I don't post often but thought I would drop in with what happened at our church on Sunday. First, my husband and I have three wonderful children, all adopted, and another couple in our church recently adopted their first son in January. A third couple in our church have been trying to get pregnant for about a year and a half and had a miscarriage a few months ago. The pastor asked all mothers to stand and said, "By mothers I mean anyone who has the spirit of a mother or who believes in their heart that they will one day be a mother." This enabled the person who was TTC to stand and be recognized as a mother-to-be, which I thought was really thoughtful and special. She was also given a potted flower by the mother of the lady who recently adopted in January along with a big hug and words of encouragement. Of course, we go to a very small church and everyone knows everyone, so that may be the difference.

Here's to all the mothers out there, whether or not your children have actually found their way to you yet.

Thank you everyone and especially SandyC for your posts. This has helped me feel better knowing that at least some women understand what I am going through. I just feel better.
