Looking for Foster Parent friends in my area. I have been a foster parent for almost 6 years. I am a stay at home mom and haven't met very many foster parents in my area. I have adopted two AA children and am looking for friendship and support.

I'm probably really close to you. I am not a foster parent yet. I just took my first class this Saturday. However, I will be done with PRIDE in 5 weeks, so I will definitely need the support. Also, there is another lady in my class that lives in North Dallas too.

Perfect_mother2, Wish I lived in Dallas, I do live in central Texas, though! Feel free to email or pm me anytime. We are in the licensing phase now to be an approved foster/adopt home. If there's anyone living in the Killeen - Ft. Hood area (I'm also a military wife and mother) I'd enjoy hearing from you, as well. Come Summer 2005, I will also be a SAHM (stay at home mom) we will be getting a placement (hopefully) during this time, (girl, toddler/preschool age) and I would love to get a play date started for her as well as freindship and support for myself. There is a North Texas Foster Parents Association. I am a member. Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month in Carrollton Tx. Don't know how far that is from you but it would be worth the drive. Babysitting provided. Let me know your e-mail and I'll send you the meeting information. We have great parties and every month we have training that counts for 2-3 hours training. Do you take Dallas County kids?
