A little bit of happy news
Well, little D's relatives were late to court so their petitions were dismissed. If they still want to get custody. They will have to find b-mom and get her to sign again, and then refile all over again.
(If it were my kid or my relative, I would have been on the courthouse steps at 6 am !!!) So, we get a reprieve for the holidays and again have clearance to take him on our annual christmas trip. If they refile, nothing will happen until some time in January. So, it is back to wait and see but I will take what I can get at this point! Take care all and happy holidays!!!! |

leeabc, Sometimes you gotta take what you can get, what a nice thing though, having the holidays with your foster son. It will be a very special one, Im sure, regardless of the final outcome. Try not to worry about tomorrow, there's enough worries for today if you want to search long and hard enough. Sometimes it's almost better to be blissfully ignorant or in sweet denial at least for a little while. I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday, sending 2 thumbs up your way, that all goes well for you and your case after the New year when you go to court again. malificient.

Yes, we are definitely happy to have the holiday time with him. And I am getting better at trying to focus on the "here and now" but I have always been one to look at the future as well. I suppose that is a huge lesson I am learning through the process of foster parenting.
Thanks for the thoughts! |

I agree with you lea....I'd spend the night on the courthouse if I had to. Kind of makes you wonder, doesn't it?! Maybe they're not as committed to getting him as they'd like everyone to believe....after all, actions do speak louder than words.

It is wayy to hard to guess what will happen. We have an off-site visit with one of the relatives this weekend. So, we'll see what happens.
We are hoping that by scheduling some off-site visits, they will understand that we are not trying to cut off contact. |
