Those that foster ages 0-2

I was wondering for those that foster ages 0-2 that accept both sexes. Do you usually get more boys than girls or vice versa? If you foster beyond the age of two please just include the placements you've had in this age bracket. Thank you.

I'm just curious of the statistics. I hear some people say they receive more boys while others may receive more girls. I've heard some people say more boys come into care at this age than girls.
Thank you in advance for your participation.

I try to only take 0-2, with the exception of one 4 yr old. In one year I have had 10 placements and 4 have been boys and 5 have been girls, the 4 yr old is a girl as well.

However, about 70% of the calls I get are for boys. I prefer girls and try to get only girls. I take boys only if they are under 2. I don't know why, that is just what I do.

In the three years of foster Ive had 17 kids. Nine were two and under, 3 girls 6 boys. The boys also stayed longer with us then the girls. One boy we are adopting and now the other might go for adoption.

Mostly Boys

I've been a single foster parent for 2 years. I've have 17 children, 15 of them under age 2.

Both of the over 2 were girls (6 yrs and 3 yrs).

Of the under 2 there have been 4 girls (3 age 4 months and one age 15 months at placement) and 11 boys (5 at 5 days and under; 3 who were 5 months; 1 at 7 months; 1 at 15 months and 1 at 22 months at placement).

Some were adopted, several went to relative foster placements, and some moved to higher tier homes (more medical needs than originally thought when DHS placed them - I am a non-medical home). At this time I have a seven month old girl (one of the 4 month at placement babies).

They have been in my home for a range of 1 day (relative placement) to 11-1/2 months (adopted).

We've had 9 girls & 7 boys between the ages of 0-2 in 2 1/2 years. We've had 32 children all together. We've adopted a boy that we got when he was almost 4. A baby girl that we got at 5 days old and we will be adopting our little girl that we got when she was 14 months pretty soon.
