My kids love the Kid Cuisine meals in the frozen section!!! They have the sides and the dessert with them and they think they are such a treat!

update
hi guys! well, we have had our little guy for 6 days now.. and he is doing great! he is 18 months and so sweet. he is full of hugs and kisses and smiles. he eats likes there is no tomorrow! one thing though...our caseworker is new (he mentioned) and he had no answers to any of my questions. he didnt know anything about this little boy. i asked many questions...he didnt even know how long our fs has been in care! we got him from another foster home, they couldnt keep him bcs of personal reasons. i thought the former foster mom would write me a little note, let me know about his schedule, likes, dislikes.. etc. nothing! i asked the case worker what his middle name is, he didnt know. i asked if he has any allergies known, he didnt know.....is this normal?? i feel like they just dropped this little boy off, and that was it. when he came to us, he was not too clean, his little nails hadnt been trimmed in a long while, and its obvious they havent spent alot of one on one time with him. he has a little speech delay, so they say.. but he is saying alot more words in the past 6 days alone! should i talk to someone else at my agency, to let them know all of this?? i cant get over the case worker not knowing anything! what would you do? anyway.. this little guy is just so precious.. we really are lucky! thanks, lainey |

I think that is abslutely unacceptable. Maybe you should suggest that the caseworker read the child's file! Ours is a fost/adopt placement, so we were given TONS of information, and I spoke the the FM for 1 1/2 hours. Keep pushing for information!

Try not to get too discouraged. Your caseworker should have had your information ready for you and the previous foster mother should have provided some information as well.
It took me 4 or 5 days to get information on my last placed foster children. It was extremely frustrating. They couldn't even tell me why the kids were taken, they too had been moved from a previous foster home. I am glad to hear that he is doing well in your home! Also, about the speech delay thing...All 4 of mine that have been placed at 18 months supposedly had speech delay's. If he is talking to you then I wouldn't worry about it. They say one of mine has speech delay's right now and I keep telling them NO that he talks to us all the time at home, he just gets scared when they take him and question him in a room with a bunch of strangers. Hang in there..

Congratulations! I am glad that everyone is adjusting well......Sorry about the lack of info, I have seen similar but NOT that bad!! A personal note, some social worker's don't know anything and they don't take the time to find out!! I always heard "excuses"....just keep asking -- someone will tell you!
Good luck!
