Our adoption is just around the corner!!!
We got wonderful news today. The DCS attorney and the birthfather's atty have finished their paperwork and the DCS attorney filed for tpr yesterday. We have 30 days to wait to see if the bf appeals, but since he is the one who contacted me about wanting us to adopt fd, I doubt that will happen. Our DCS atty said that our fd will be free for adoption on CHRISTMAS EVE!!! SHe said she is going to try and get the judge to do a specialty case and come in on Christmas Eve so that we can do the adoption. Can you imagine that!!!! After 33 months , she will finally be ours, and possibly on Christmas EVE. There would be no better time. Of course that would be a huge feat, so I won't get my hopes up. At least we know that we can file to adopt her on Dec. 27th. HIp Hip Hooray!!!

SOOOO happy for you!!!! I thought we were smooth sailing to Dec 9th, but the cw gave me weird vibes today. Our attorney says everything is a go, but he (cw) said the court has not accepted moms consent or adoption petition yet and could be 3-6 more months . I talked with bmom and she said they are planning on going to court for the adoption (their attornies told them the day and time). That kind of wigs me out, but she says they want to tell the judge how happy they are with where the kids are, so I guess it could be a good thing. IF all goes through on the 9th we will be officially final 15 days after judge signs, which will either be Christmas Eve or Christmas Day...........we can be prayer partners for the next month I know EXACTLY how excited you must be!!!!! |

punchkin,
yes the info was very helpful. As a matter of fact, I mentioned the money issue to the cw of the twins that we are fostering and she told me that it would absolutely NOT cost us a dime. Even the birth certificate is paid by the state. Woohoo!!! It is so weird how depending on who you get as a cw, as to what she or he knows. |
