Thanks to all who helped me thru the past couple rough days. I'm feeling much better today. I just spoke to my case worker and vented to her about the comments made and she apologized up and down and assured me that the situations we're looking for arise all the time and there is no way we'll wait 8 years for our child.

Apparently the referral letters never went out..so she apologized for that as well and is mailing them out today. Turns out we DO need to go to be fingerprinted for the FBI clearance so she's mailing us the cards and will call me on Tuesday to make sure I got them and explain what needs to be done with them.

Then she said all that's left to do is the final homestudy which is very simple and that we'd be open by the end of December.

I'm in a better frame of mind now. I realize God won't give me anything I can't handle and whatever happens from this point forward is just meant to be. I just have to stay optimistic. I suppose I better read up on the care of newborns and toddlers since I haven't a CLUE!!! That ought to keep me occupied for awhile.

I'm so glad to hear you are doing better. It is amazing how some words from the cw can make or break a day. Sometimes there are those days you just need to hear something--anything to be reminded that you aren't forgotten. No one could have prepared me for the emotional roller-coaster that you are now on. You wont be waiting another 8 years . I believe God is doing His part right now, preparing the way for your child to be with you. He is a great matchmaker. Get as much training as you can done now. It looks good when you are concidered along with other families. Keep log of the books you read and the hours you spend doing research on special needs (even if you aren't looking for "special needs" most states lable most all their kids as special needs). This will help you pass more time. Blessings to you with your journey.
