Hello,
I had to share the great news. Today are social worker called. A county worker called her to say she was intrested in our family. She has a four month old Hisp. infant boy that she needs to find an adoptive home for!!!!! She is very intrested in our family and says she isn't looking at any other family's. We are really excited but now the hours seem to drag on. We meet her tommorow at 1:00. AHHHHH Well, we were not given tons of info about him just that he's healthy, thriving, and sleeping through the night!! He was taken at birth and put in reunification (services only for dad). Dad isn't following case plan at all so their transfering baby into adoptions!!!! We still have to be ok'd by the reunification worker. The adoption worker though was given the task to find a home for "baby" sooooo hopefully reunif. worker likes us too! We were chosen for our adopted son Joseph two years from tomorrow!! So hopefully it is our good luck day!!! We have everything so we just need the baby! If it is meant everything will work out. Baby has sibs already adopted out and no one can take the new baby. Family is inapproopriate. So I think the only obstacle is getting the reunif. workers Ok! Nikki ![]()

Hello,
Well, we met with the adoption worker today. She said when she was given the task of finding baby boy an adoptive home she had a certain family in her head. After, going through many homestudies she said once she saw us she knew we were it! She was very nice and knew a lot about siblings history. She has been the adoption worker for all the sibs. We were given more info about baby boy but still not a definit answer from reunif. worker (she has ultimate say). Adoption worker said she spoke with R worker and told her about us. She said she seemed positive and didn't ask to see any other homestudies. However, her definit answer will not be until Monday (she has Friday's off). She said she will call our worker and we will precede from there after her decision is made. This is torture!!!!! But this is a baby's life so she can take all the time she needs. We have dealt with infertility so waiting three days isn't that bad, really compared to month cycles and hospital visits. My worker said she really liked us and thinks we will have a new son soon. BUT as we all know this is the beg. of the craziness and waiting and uncertanity of adoption especially when going through foster care. I am preparing our other two children though I think we will be completing our family soon. We are going to change his name to Vincent. I can't disclose his birth name but it is highly inappropriate and it has been suggested to change it. Well, I hope my next post is a merry one! Good luck to everyone on the adoption journey. Nursie: Thank you for your reply I know decisions can be hard ones and we do not always trust them, but you must stay faithful to yourself. We knew in our hearts the other baby was not meant for us (but still a hard situation) and now we are faced with another glorious oppurtunity. Thank you for your kindness and good thoughts. Nikki

I don't know you but I have noticed something with alot of adoptions. Notification dates, b-days, placement dates, hair and eye color, names, and other conciquences keep coming up. Maybe, I'm crazy but, I believe that these are signs from God to reassure us that this is meant to be.
My neice gave her baby up last year and the baby was born on the exact date that the adoptive parents found out the prior year that their baby wasn't going to make it to term due to liver problems. Our son looks just like us, when he went to preschool he told his class during show and tell that he was adopted and his teacher laughed when she told me this at the end of the day. I hadn't shared this with her so she didn't know. Our daughters both kept their b-names. The 8 year old's first name is a common middle name in our family, one that I would have used myself. The 7 year old has the same middle name as my neice. We have friends that adopted a baby girl and she has the same dimples and unusual blue eyes as the amom. We now have 2 boys in foster care and one of them looks like a bsibling to our daughter and the other one looks like a bsibling to our other daughter. Our daughters are bsiblings to each other but they don't look alike. One time we had a family reunion and I passed around a calendar for all to write their bdays on it. It was amazing how many relatives have the same bday. I have 6 brothers and all but one married women with children and he isn't married yet. All of these children fit perfectly into our family, most of their names are names that have been used in the family or they have the same bday as someone else. If you don't get this baby, I will be shocked. I believe it was meant to be. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! I THINK YOU ARE ON TO SOMETHING!!!! I have noticed many coincidences too! My ason has a sibling that was concieved the same month that the aparents decided to adopt (which for them was a long process of infertility acceptance). This was a sign to them he was meant for them. Our adaughter looks so much like me that people do not even believe we are not bio related. My son looks a minature of my husband. I do not think our bio children would resemble us as much as they do. I defiently think there is someone who guides families together. Well, only two days to go! I could not help myself I went to Mervyn's and bought a few things for the baby. I already have bibs, sleepers, toys that I have bought over the last few months for a child 0-1. I do not know the baby's weight so I did not go overboard. Once we get the baby it will be hard to shop since are other son is two! Well, I will probably still find a way! LOL. Sunday my best fiend is getting married in Lake Tahoe so that day will go fast......somewhat. I am so happy....its scary. I really believe what one of the posters said that it is out of our hands and if it is meant to be..... It is really true, with our other son we got two calls for baby's but they did not work out, we were disapointed BUT we got our beautiful three month old son two weeks later! We had a hard court process but we never were sorry we were placed with him, we almost lost him to a potential birth father but we felt like he was meant to be with us...even if it was only for a short time...thank the Lord he was not the birth father and we were able to finalize our son's adoption! Well, I will post on Monday as soon as I hear anything. I wonder if we get chosen how long it will take to meet baby? My social worker says reunification worker's are super busy. When we were chosen for our other son everything was fast but his worker was an adoption worker. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
Bye, Nikki

Hi everyone!
Well I wanted to update everyone. The weekend dragged on foreverrrrrrrrrr. Finally, today was the big day. Wrong we got a call from our social worker at 3:30 she said that the baby's worker was not in the office today. She said she will let us know as soon as she hears from sw hopefully tom. But who knows??? I am glad it is already the evening. I set the bassinette up in our bedroom tonight. We have a two and 1/2 almost year old that we are trying to prepare for the new baby. We talk about the baby with him and will include him immensely. Our eight year old is as anxious as us! Hopefully, tom. will bring sunshine and great news. I hope everyone is doing well tonight. I will post tom as soon as I hear annnyyyythhhinnnggggg. Bye!!! Nikki
