Smile Hi......... first post

Hi just thought I'd tell everyone here that I was approved to adopt my 2yr 10mths boy who we have fostered since he was 6months I am so happy. I have a bio son of 11 and he is over the moon, it seems llike it was just meant for him to come to us.
He looks like a cherub ( a big one mind as he is over 42lbs and the height of a 4/5 year old, not fat though) thick blonde curly hair, green eyes like my older son and I but thats where it ends as he is quite a handful but loved anyway. Anyway cant wait for everything to be finalized.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let us all know when your adoption day is! It's been five months for us and I still can't believe we are done with DCFS! It seemed like the day would never come. It took three years to finalize!

You have your hands full

Hi Dmommab

You have your hands full with all the little ones. I used to have all little ones to but since adopting John we thought that we would only take school age kids until he is older as he get quite jealous and can be aggressive to the little ones which isn't fair on either of them. I have said I would take a tiny baby as he is loves them, they dont invade his space. I only have one foster s at the moment and hes 9 and he has settled well and made lots of friends.

WOW..What great pictures...thanks for sharing them with us. It means a lot to put a picture of a child to the stories that we are always reading on this forum...I am just about to begin FP classes next week, im excited and scared at the same time...im single and I have never had the responsibility of a child ever. However, I am determined to make this work, Congratulations to you...Wayne.

Yes little meg I do have my hands full right now but I've had these 4 little ones together for 18 months now & I must say it gets easier with time. You just figure out how to do things differently than before. I ALWAYS have a double stroller in my car & put the 2 little ones in it. The 4 year olds MUST hang on to either side of the stroller unless I tell them they can let go! Took a while to train the boy to do that but he's got it down pat now. We even took them all to Disney World this summer & had a great time. They all behaved surprisingly well & even did pretty well on the airplane rides. First time my husband had been with them all full time since he normally works and it was wonderful to hear him say "This is a lot of work". DUH! lol
