i called my fs cw and told her what happ. and she acted like it pissed her off so we have talked to several legal people so they could answer our que. and we were told that if the bio parents were adiment about the adoption we could hire a lawyer and have everyone involved to meet at his office and read over the paperwork and sign them and there is nothing dfcs can do about it our county is not to good to the foster parents even though nobdy else wants all 4 kids and we did so they can stay together no we are going to have to tell the parents we can not take but 2 because we will not receive no help from our county dfcs including adoption subsidy's atleast she will receive pictures and a yearly update and we found out the oldest is not his child so we can not get her yet dfcs said if they could find somebody to adopt all 4 after tpr they will be out of a diff. county because the children have relatives ,well duh everyone is going to have relatives.. we feel that if we are good enough for fostering we are good enough to make them our family.

Are your foster children released for adoption? Meaning parental rights have been terminated. How long have you had your foster children? If you have had your foster children I believe it is for at least one year and they have bonded with you and they are freed to be adopted, what is the sw questioning or being pissed off about? I understand I have been fighting the system for seven months with my foster daughter who has continually gone down hill since she was taken and placed in a group home. I don't know quite what your situation is. But if they are free to be adopted then I would fight for them and yes get legal advise, etc.

upsetting dfcs
the biom and bio dad asked if we would adopt them the ** is not being allowed to work out a case plan and the biod does not want to fight for them he would rather somebody else have them if they can try to keep the kids together and they have been in fc for 7 months.

Here is GA's website for adoption. http://www.nacac.org/stateprofiles/georgia.html
The children ARE eligible for adoption subsidy. Don't let the worker tell you differently. Is finances the only thing keeping you from adopting all the kids together? You would be getting close to $1600 per month, more if the kids are receiving more in foster care, also if their parents are receiving any kind of welfare, the kids will receive IV-E benefits. Fight for the kids!

the situation is that dfcs office is trying to mess this up we were asked to adopt from the parents, dfcs says that they are not close to tpr;ing on the parents but the situation is very bleak for them and the realize that so dfcs tells me that if they adopt the kids out as a group that they would send that out of the county only because the kids have relatives in our county even if the children have already bonded with the fp that they are with ,see they split them all up and i have been tryng to get 2or3 of them back tog. but if we adopt without there permission by going thrue alaywer we will not receive no help whatsoever thats means we will not be able to take all 4 just 2 that are the closest bonded tog.

That is rediculous. My daughters bmom decided to give her rights up after 11 months of foster care and her doing nothing on her care plan. It was never a question about who would adopt her. Her whole bfamily lives on the other side of town from us. We could run into any of them at any time and that was never a problem for dfs.
Does DFS know that bparents are willing to sign away rights? Sounds to me that maybe DFS is trying to get out of paying subsity??? Hang in there and make them do what you want. Eventually maybe they will give in. alicia

Where in GA are you? This is ridiculous!!! A group of 4 is not going to be easy to place and if you have had any of them over 6 months at the time of TPR you have to sign saying you will NOT adopt so just saying they are going to move them out of county is crazy...also they cannot tell the parents that they cannot sign there rights away.
