We finished our home study and were told to expect a call any time now.We got one yesterday about three children age 6 months 3 yrs and they weren't sure about the other one.We were very excited and told them yes of course. We haven't heard anything else since and don't know what happened.I thought they would at least call back and tell us something I guess I am just too anxious about it.Has anyone else went through this?Is this normal behavior for caseworkers?I am new at this and don't really know what to expect.I know wew will get kids soon because they never have enough foster homes here but we are disappointed right now.A family in our town lost one of their twins yesterday and they are investigating his death The ages of the children fit the ones they asked me to take.I think they may have just been trying to make sure they have a place for them just in case .It may be just a coincidence though.I know the family and it may be a conflict if it happens and we get them.

YES!! I know exactly how you are feeling! Two weeks ago, we received a phone call from our agency saying we were officially licensed and that they had a 4 mos. old in need of placement that day. We said, yes and them we were told that the case worker should be on her way in the next few hours. We never heard another word. And still do not know what happened. We are still waiting for another call, but I know around the holidays things are pretty slow. So, our family as well. was very excited and it was a dissappointment. So, I don't know anything to tell you except I know what your feeling!!!!!!!!

ready and waiting
We have since found out the children were the siblings of the one who died and they are letting them stay at home pending the autopsy results. They do think it is Sids but won't really know for three weeks. They were told that a decision would possibly be made on Monday as to whether they will remove the children or not.We are hoping things will be o.k. and the children can stay with their parents. So we are still waiting for some kids who do need us.

Oh gosh, how sad....
.....i can only imagine the pain and guilt that foster family is living right now. they will need alot of support. As for awaiting placement, I would recommend you always carry a cell phone. We have missed placements for having not been home when the calls came...they move on down the list and the child(ren) goes to the first family who is willing. Good luck...I bet your call will come very soon.
