Our First Placement!
We got a call last evening to foster a 16 month old baby girl.
We get to see her Saturday and spend the day with her. She has been in care since birth. Foster mom wants to find her a family that would like to adopt her if they get PC in March. We are so excited! We do not have any children of our own!

I am so happy for you. I had a question about your statement. What does pc mean? I am new to this board and trying to understand some of the lango used.
Take care! Mel in AZ |

Congratulations! I hope it all works out.
"PC" is Permanent Custody, "PCW" is Permanent Court Ward, meaning (as far as I understand) that the state has custody of the child & is responsible for making decisions. I believe this happens before a child is available for adoption. I think, too, that it's through this status that some children remain in foster care but not adopted for prolonged periods of time. I think there may be some legal reason that keeps the children from being free for adoption.

Saturday's visit went well and she would be a great
match for our family. I have been playing telephone tag with her foster parents so we will be scheduling the next visit soon. She is a cutie pie.

your future placement
Does she have any medical problems that they know of? How long did it take for them to call you?

She doesn't have any known medical issues. Her fm called last night to say that we can't schedule a next visit until they schedule the **'s visitation....so I am waiting....it is hard to be patient at times! Luckily, tomorrow is a holiday! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
