Christian Foster Parents Board
This message was originally posted by mariah.
I have received many emails requesting that I build a Christian Foster Parents Forum. Those of you and the many others afraid to speak out on what you believe, please feel free to join us there. Here is the link: http://www.bulletinboards.com/message.cfm?comcode=1018 I have set up a bare bones site and would like to invite any Christian Foster Parents to join. The site has a prayer board and will soon be packed with information to assist you in your journey as foster parent and foster adoptive parent. See you there. Mom27, if you visit this board, I would like for you to join our Christian board. I know some Christians have been banned from the fosterparents.com board for speaking up about your beliefs. You will be able to speak freely on the Christian board. Hope to see you there and God bless all of you. Thank you for your kind emails of support. Mariah New Jersey |

Some of you were trying to post on my board but didn't know the password. You can make up any password you like to post a message. You just need to remember the password if you wish to go back and modify the message or delete it. See you there! |

DISCLAIMER: This post is not directed at any specific individual. Christianity is about love, not hatred. Some of the posts that I have seen posted in the name of Christ are filled with hatred, and if those users were banned then it was probably because of the hate, not the opinion. Personally, as a Christian, the hate-filled posts I have seen in the name of God and Christianity sicken and offend me. I was brought up to love every human being regardless of race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation because despite our disagreements we are all brothers and sisters created in the image of God. At least I thought that was a basic belief of Christianity, but maybe I was wrong. DISCLAIMER 2: This post is speaking IN GENERAL about SOME of the posts that I have seen on various topics.

I believe Mariah started this thread just to leave a little information about her new board. Please wait to spout off about being "sickened and offended" at least until a controversial question has been asked. . . Inappropriate post! |

Thank you Janae. I totally agree with you that we as Christians should love and have compassion. I understand you want to become a foster parent. I think that is wonderful. You will soon find that although you will love and pray for the children's biological parents, you will not stand idly by and "tolerate" the abuse they are being subjected to. As a Christian especially, you will pray for the strength to stand up for these innocent children and demand what is in their best interests. I know you speak about compassion and love but this is not to be confused with tolerance. After all if you or I were tolerant, we would never have became foster parents. We would simply sit back and love the biological parent, despite the harm they are subjecting their children too. My point: To love and have compassion does not mean we have to sit idly by and be tolerant. Jesus was not tolerant. If he were he wouldn't have flipped tables over in the temple. He would have just walked on through smiling and loving everyone. He did not "tolerate" that behavior in His father's home, and he broke out into an angry rage, flipped all the tables over and immediately put an end to the behavior. Let us remember that to be a Christian we can be compassionate and loving but never tolerant of sinful behavior. We can love the sinner, but we should always hate the sin. |
