Recieved 1st call!!!!

YA YA YA

I'am so excited. We finally recieved out 1st phone call. This is for 2 boys (brothers) they are already in care and the FP are not able to keep adopt them. They are going on vacation next week and instead of putting them in respite for three weeks, the FP thought that another FP that is interested in adopting them would be better. This way there are not so many changes for the boys. FB1 is a 2yr old bi-racial chikd who has been in care for 15month now, FB2 is 4months old and has been in care since birth. TPR procedures to schedule to begin in November. My husband and I visited with FP yesterday for 2hrs. The boys seem very health. We plan to have them come to our house on Monday with a transfer to happen on Wednesday. I' am really trying hard to build a good realtionship with FM. She is having a hard time and I really want her to continue to be apart of their lives. I'll keep everyone informed as to our progress.

YEAH!! Congratulations!!! I know you couldn't be happier.

I am sure the other FM will be happy that you will allow her to stay a part of their lives.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! ~~~Doin' the happy dance right along with ya~~~..We were blessed with our fd D and her newborn baby brother-D also(who we picked up at the hospital) about 2 and a half months ago... Everything is going wonderfully with them. We are looking forward to September 8th when TPR is supposed to begin...(keepin' our fingers crossed)...We had no children b4, so this was a big change for us...We couldnt be happier!!! They are both bi-racial, and BEAUTIFUL! When we started everything, we said we would be thrilled with any age, any race, either sex, and medical problems would be ok as well.(Fost adopt in NJ is only 0-5) We never dreamed we would be blessed with TWO babies...We are licensed for 3, so we have room for 1 more... The original FM who had our FD didn't want to adopt, so when our FS was born, they decided to move our FD to a family who wanted to adopt them both together. I told the childrens social worker that I would love to have a relationship with the FM, that she was welcome to come see D anytime she wanted to, and I asked the social worker to give her our phone number...I guess it was too much for her to handle because we haven't heard from her at all...My heart goes out to her every day, because baby D (and her brother) are such little gems...but I guess she is doing what is best for her...

I have a wonderful friendship with the family that fostered my middle daughter before she came to me. They had a hard time saying goodbye to her. Now we are friends who talk frequently and visit a few times a year. Their kids connected with mine right away

Congrats on your new little boys!!Boy you seem like a great mom to be willing to let the other foster mom keep contact!!I have had 2 situations with the next family not wanting anything to do with us.It can be really hard to let go when you have had a little one for so long and being able to at least hear how they are doing is the greatest. I must say i also had one go and to another foster home after 2.5 years and i am now good friends with that foster mom and talk to her all the time. She keeps me updated which is really nice. Good luck with yours.
